Common questions

Does Clipt work without an account? Yes — the clipboard history works fully offline with no sign-in. An account is only needed for cross-device sync.

How do I open it? Clipt lives in your menu bar. Press ⌃⌘C (Control-Command-C) in any app to pop the panel open with the search box focused, then type to search, arrow to pick, and Enter to copy. ⌘1⌘9 grab your last nine instantly.

Where is my data stored? Locally on your Mac. If you enable sync, clips are end-to-end encrypted on your device and only the ciphertext is stored on the sync server — we cannot read it. See the privacy policy.

How does sync work? Sign in, choose an encryption passphrase (it never leaves your Mac), then sign in on your other Mac with the same passphrase — your history appears there, fully encrypted in transit and at rest.

How do I clear my history? Use the Clear button. Pinned clips are kept, and the change propagates to your other Macs.

How do I delete my account and synced data? Email us at the address above and we'll remove your account and all associated server data.
